The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Wednesday allayed fears of candidates whose admission fate had been kept in the balance because of the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The Board said despite the strikes that had affected the academic calendar from 2020 till date, no offer of admission made by it to candidates who wrote the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination had been cancelled.
ASUU had gone on strike for ten months in 2020 during the outbreak of COVID-19
This year, the union was on strike for eight months, thereby disrupting the academic calendar.
The strikes by ASUU had led to a backlog of admissions which many public universities are battling to resolve.
